It’s the season of chorphon (Ceylon olive)!
A neighbours olive tree bore an abundance of it.
Such a lot of fruits it was that the burdened branch could bear it no more.
Off it broke under the weight of it’s fruits.
And away it came to us in a large packet.
and now am busy wondering what should I do with it. Eat it fresh with salt, chilli flakes, roasted besan and powdered perilla seeds. Boil it or roast it and mash it with sugar n a pinch of salt. But wondering what else can I do with it! Perhaps pickle it.
Edit: And here’s the sapling we planted last October.
